Truly Yours, Love

At the age of 18, a very dreamy period, someone asked me, “So, is she the one?” And in the blink of an eye I said, “Yes, she is my one True love”. It was the era of Princes and Princesses, Ponies and Unicorns, Fairies and Wishes and above all, a very promising, happy land, my very own ‘Far-Faraway’. There were butterflies in my stomach every time we crossed paths, goosebumps when she stared at me. Oh! I used to blush every time I thought about her. Protective, possessive and above all willing to give up everything, that’s how crazy it felt to be with her. True love? Is this how you feel when you find the one?

Well, it’s been 8 years since then and a very beautiful journey. And if you are wondering whether I am still with my one True Love or it’s just another sad heartbreak narration, then no, it’s not a heartbreak, it’s not a sad story, it’s my beautiful journey with my one True Love. Love is patient and kind, love is not jealous, love is eternity. We all have heard such profound teachings about this beautiful feeling called love but how many of us have been lucky enough to venture this route and build our very cozy home in it? Fortunately, I am one of the blessed few.

It was a cozy winter morning when I woke up to the softest touch, the most lovable and adorable eyes, and beyond everything the most enigmatic smile I have ever seen. How did I never see this side to this person? How could I have never noticed the deep, brown eyes and the warmth?! It was that day I realized how much you cared for me, loved me and how much it meant to you to just see me smile. I did not wake up to a grand gesture but it was on that day when I remembered each and every single thing you did for me, for us. It wasn’t the big things in life that drew me towards you but all those tiny, everyday gestures that made me fall head over heels for you. You were hurt when I was hurt, you stayed by my side when I was low and had sleepless lonely nights, you celebrated me everyday even when I doubted myself. You always found me beautiful even on my worst days, you taught me to be strong and bold, be kind and helpful. With you I could be myself, I could do whatever I wanted to without the fear of being judged or hated. You always gave me more and more without even asking for it. You pushed me to go chase my dreams and never let me down or my expectations. My heart never yearned for something or someone else around you, I felt like I was home, content and complete. It wasn’t an easy journey finding you and now that I have you, I will never lose sight of you. To all those who are seeking true love, wake up one day and look into the mirror, yes your one True Love has been waiting forever to be loved back.
